Who she is

A Mexican-American actress, director and longtime advocate for Latino entrepreneurship, Eva Longoria has built one of the most active celebrity investment portfolios in the US, with a focus on Latino- and Latina-founded companies.

The investment

Longoria was named as an investor in AI voice company ElevenLabs’ 2026 funding round, alongside firms like BlackRock, and joined Mexican-American snack brand Siete Foods in 2024 as an investor and strategic advisor. She has also put $1 million of her own money specifically toward supporting Latina-founded businesses.

Three commitments, three different instruments

Longoria's three disclosed positions are not variations on one thing. Being named in ElevenLabs' 2026 round is participation in a late-stage financing of an AI company. Joining Siete Foods in 2024 as investor and strategic advisor is a consumer-brand position with a working role attached. And putting US$1 million specifically toward supporting Latina-founded businesses is closer to a funding programme than to an investment — money allocated against a criterion rather than into a company.

Those require different things and behave differently. The first is a financial position in a company she will not influence. The second involves her time. The third is a commitment to deploy across many companies not yet identified, which is what a fund does.

“Alongside BlackRock” is not the same as like BlackRock

Coverage of rounds like this routinely lists individual investors next to institutional ones, and the phrasing invites a conclusion it does not support. Appearing in the same round as a large asset manager says the two put money into the same company at roughly the same time. It says nothing about the size of either cheque, the terms attached, or the rights obtained.

Institutions negotiating a late-stage round frequently secure protections that smaller participants do not get — preferences that pay them first in a sale, information rights, sometimes board representation. Two names in the same sentence can hold materially different instruments in the same company. The list of investors is the most quoted and least informative part of any funding announcement.

If this made the sector interesting rather than the celebrity, start with how to begin investing — and, if private companies are what caught your eye, how angel investing actually works.
